Combat Theater Reset with some changes

I don't mind the spits... I actually saw just as many P-40's as spits last night. And I had a nice fight with a hurri too... stalemate until I had to RTB on low fuel, I don't think either of us even fired a shot. But, if the 38 is going to be available, so should the 190A5 imho. Pretty much the same difference, and I don't think the 190 will upset any balance. Oh well... I'm not the guy who calls the shots, I'll just take what I can get and work with it.

Godzilla huh? Can you imagine the perk cost?? lol

Of course, the 205 would be nice instead, maybe at a small (2 - 4) perk cost?

Edit: That's the biggest problem currently imo... the 109 simply does not have the fuel to get to the fight and stick around, several times I found myself with cons in vis, but had to bug out due to low fuel.

Sounds like there's some discontent among people, but don't get us wrong - we still love the CT and the CT staff :)

But in terms of compromising game play and realistic environment, I think the setup when Malta first started was best. The 109s controlled the fight, but still against a well flown Hurricane with it's tremendous low-speed maneuvering capability, half a mistake is all it takes to get slaughterd by a quad-Hispano plane. The fights between the F-4 and the P-40E was very interesting, too. The early settings gave some various situations for the people to work out.

I think Nifty's suggestion is the better one. The Allies got a SpitV, we get a G-2, then the Allies have the P-38L and now some people want the 190A-5. It's really a vicious circle of over-compensation.

Reverting to the original settings, with the fields enabled of 109F-4 pushed backwards a bit(about 25 miles?), and the SpitV lightly perked for emphasis on the rarity(15 Spits?) should be better.

 Just a suggestion ;)

SpitfireV was the main RAF fighter defending Malta in 1942. There were no 109G-2s or P-38s in N. Africa then. Not in any kind of numbers anyways.

109F-4 is a very god match for a SpitfireV and certianly a P-40E. It was the standard LW fighter at the time.

Should be SpitfireV, HurricaneII, P40E and Bostons vs 109E, 109F, 110Cs and Ju88s.

No G-2s, no P38s (USAAF wasnt even there yet).

My 2 cents.

What Squire said.  What's this "P38--the Savior of Malta" rubbish?

Had a great time tonight.  Only popped into the CT for about half an hour with a squad mate, and we flew formation JU88 torpedo attacks against that pesky carrier group parked off A6 and the approaching cruiser group to the west. In two sorties we sunk 3 cruisers, a destroyer and the CV, for the loss of about half our aircraft.

And who says you can't find intense action in the CT!

(But enough with the 38 please!)

Okay, forget the 38, now the allies have jugs and ponies too. This is a bug or some oversight right? It's gotta be something like that... allies have the spit, no problem... the 38, well, I just killed one in my 202, so okay I guess... but now jugs and ponies???????
This has become more than just a question about balance or whether the 38 should be there... it has become a joke on the axis. And a bad joke at that.

its gotta be a bug blue.  They would have announced it.  That kind of stuff has been happening lately (262s and vhs for example).

As far as fuel goes, the allies are not much better off.  P40 is anemic without the droptank, and it climbs poorly as it is.  The f4f has a range smaller than an old man with a thermos full of weak coffee.

Most of the fights I have been getting into I have had to high tail it home for fuel as well.

(notice I am ignoring the p38 all together)

Go back to original setup with Hurri's as main Malta defense, then make a Spit V worth 5 perk points or something.

Okay, bug's been found and fixed. to Buzzbait for catching it! It's back to the original planeset now. I didn't realize the 40's and f4's had the short range as well, that helps too. Not to mention my goof... I was using the wrong dang stick set and only firing primaries, didn't realize it until I hopped in a 109 and cannon wasn't firing. DUH!!! Now it should be a little easier to knock down the bad guys, lol
So... now that all the hollering is over, do I at least get a nomination for whine of the week? lol...

And yes, even when the "extra" planes were around, the CT is still infinitely more enjoyable than the MA, hands down. Y'alls hard work is appreciated, even if I don't say it much.
