"This happened about 40 miles North of here. Lots of coverage. Now, don't get me wrong. I think the guys are a bunch of a-holes and we probably wouldn't miss this algae if it left the gene pool. Still, there was a huge outcry for blood to answer blood over this kitten's horrible torture and subsequent death. Yet I'll wager the same day there were stories of adults seriously abusing children, adults serously abusing other adults, etc. in the newspapers of almost any major city you'd like to pick. Yet the punishment for such offenses against a fellow human being are considered far too harsh if the convicted are sentenced to 2 weeks in a county jail where they don't get Cable TV. Go figure."
