My Tiger II, New pics
« on: July 18, 2002, 03:48:33 PM »
Been fishing recently in other forums, caught a few as well with my tank.

Seriously though, I haven't quite finished it yet, still have inside to texture, and little details like MG's to put on, but I would like some useful comments on the tank, Texture, etc so that I can make it really good.

Keep in mind its a low poly model and my aim was to make something comparable to whats in AH.

thx :)

Looks pretty Good!...One of these days Ill start posting my models.

You need to add some dirt, and rust and just in general wear and tear.

Im in school right now, and my classmates just critiqued your model, My class is advanced 3D textures...

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

All done in 3DS Max ver4
rendered using the standard 3ds max scanline renderer.
I am using 25 dim spotlights arranged in a dome (light multiplier set at 0.7)
This give a pretend raydiosity render (as max doesn't have raydiosity as standard,)
Also it renders very quick less than 30 seconds.

my system:
1.1ghz athon
A7V mother board
Geforce 2 GTS 64 Mb AGP - display 1
Matrox Mystique  PCI  -  display 2
512Mb pc133 sdram
duel boot-  windows XP Pro/windows Me - use windows XP pro to play AH
soundblaster Live!
Microsoft FF 2 joystick

heres how I have set up my light rig,
all lights are instanced not copied.
more lights are better but  render times increase. :D

No probs, here it is :D
Its the 25 spot lights and a stage shape (sort of a bowl to give it that gradient near the horizon)

All lights are instanced so a change to one will affect all of them.
Shadows set to map not raytraced (gives soft edges not hard)
light multiplier = 0.7
colour = white

Makes models look nice though :D
