I have had moderate success bombing in 1.10, lots of work but still enjoyable. However I have a question about lining up in the bombsight.
I have been setting up my run at 15+ miles out. I stay in nose of plane to line up bomb run then switch to f6. If I am not lined up I return to the nose and adjust course. This can be hectic at times, especially if I cant get the plane lined up accurately the first or second time into sight.
Yet I have noticed that the crosshairs in the bombsight also move on a horizontal plane. I have never set up a bomb run by calibrating sight on the horizontal, only vertical. I always adjust the bomb run from nose (to minimize calibration errors.)
My question is, by moving the bombsight horizontaly to the calibration point does the bomber adjust flight path to that position after target calibrated? Or must your bomb run point of attack always made out of f6, and constantly adjust from the flight deck?
If one cannot adjust course from the bombsight, what is the point of having the bombsight move horizontaly? Any help would be appreciated.
