Before someone flames me for not posting this at OT, the above url only speaks well for AH.  Congrats HTC for this new arena I've heard about.  A Mission based MMP with historical combatants has long been considered "the holy grail" by flightsim fanatics!

Kind of OT but I find it kind of surprising that HTC does not allow someone to do a 2nd two trial if their first trial was over a year before.  That seems like it would just be good business to me.

Ya they should just run a query to re open 1 year old accounts for another trial and send an email. Maybe change it to a one week trial for refresher accounts.
That thread is a good discussion by people that care about the type of arena that HT is offering for 1.11.

if they were really interested in trying AH again, instead of bashing it, they'd discover that Dale would probably let them have another trial period, or they could do the H2H thing to find out if the 'new' AH is for them.

they won't get the arenas but they'll get the FM, etc

One fellow in the thread says that he sent HTC an email and they refused him a 2nd trial even though it had been quite a while since he tried it.  That is $14.95/mo HTC will never see plus a bit of bad press was generated.  That hurts HTC and at some level us as well.

Bashing or no, it still seems to me that after a year or so one should be allowed another two week trial.

Further, because of this one fellow, the WB folks who have already used their 2-week trial now have the impression (as do I) that they will be unable to try out 1.11 even though many of WB players in this thread are saying that the mission arena sounds like just the thing to make them switch.  If they can't do a 2-week then they will not be able to play in the mission arena which is the feature they find tempting.  H2H is not going to cut it for them as this is a different game.  There go a few more $14.95/mo subscriptions.

*Shrug*, just seems so avoidable to me.

I trolled the WB arena's this last weekend during prime time . I didnt see more that 150 players in the whole game. plus we always have the h2h rooms that are free. (looks like a place to try the new toys to me )  with access to all the maps they can see what there is to offer in here .

Methinks that questioning HTC's business practices will result in a locked thread...

HT provides arenas, as good as most IL2's, for FREE.  What the heck more do you want.

Myself, I don't quite understand all of the indignation over a measly $15 to try out AH a second time.  Like someone said above, if they think the arena idea is really so fantastic, that should be enough.  I know I think it's fantastic, and my next box will be a pc for the first time ever, even thinking of building my own to save $.

Ozark!

regards all,

ik

Glad to see you Ik, let me know if you need advice on that PC. Or head over to the hardware & software forum. Bloom & a few others REALLY know their stuff.

the only thing ya get there for free is EZ mode air start weekends and/or an arena with 2 or  4 planes enabled.

They just started those.

The free weekends aren't even close to a real representation of their mostly empty arenas. I would not  suggest starting  an account there just to evaluate it. You gotta jump through a series of firey hoops to get it cancelled.
