my first fligth sim.  Colecovision dam busters.  I *LOVED* that game.  In terms of design, it was more advanced and had greater concern for historical accuracy than much of the stuff out there now.

first flight sim I had was on my Commodore Vic-20 (predessor to the commodore 64, it had a whopping 3.5k of ram which I had upgraded to 32k which made made it more powerful then the ZX sinclair spectrum 16k), the game had no outside graphics, you had to fly with the instruments only, half way on the journey the wind would put you off course and you had to tap the arrow key a couple of times to get back on course.
It was really exciting..... Honest

Those where the days :D

I had that game.  It had a paper map with a grid on it.  You had a digital x, y, z coordinate to navigate with.  There was a pass through the mountans that was kind of exciting to fly through:)
