Today's Snap Shot has to be one of the coolest I have seen.  I watched take offs from the tower of A42 and was truly impressed by the sight of a runway FULL of green planes.  It was fast paced with lots of action. The first wave of Jugs pouncing on the lone 109... Then the rest of the 109s sneeking over the top and in on the BUFFs.  If it wasn't planned, it should have been.  The action was fast and furious with wreckage scatterred all across the channel... During the melee there were 51 A2A kills recorded.  19 LW planes (285 pts) were lost and 32 (590pts) Allied were destroyed.  I'd like to say that there were more points to add, but unfortunately, there aren't.  The allied BUFFs had some sort of bombsight problems and failed to land a single egg on target.  It was a decisive LuftWaffe Victory!

I had seemingly History Channel looking snap shots into blackout on 109's. Man it was a whole new looking game.

Boring as hell for 15-20 minutes, pure fun for 10 more. (pry was only a few minutes)

You didn't even know if you got a kill, can't wait for the results.

Someone just tore me to peices in a rudder slip barrel roll when i was caught on the deck, I actually thought that would throw em off.

Nope.

He's pry gay, like Animal. Oh the humiliation.

The Mongrels took off in B-26s.  We actually looked pretty good for awhile.  During the time I took off, got shot down, and listening to AHVoice after, I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes.

NIfty discoed and he comes back on, "Swagger you have the lead."

HUH?

"Nifty, I was just going to drop my bombs when you did!"

Thank goodness Sour did some bombing and basically took the lead.

It didnt matter for 5 minutes in to the attack by the 109s I was hitting silk.

There were a couple of "bugs" in shifting to undamaged planes in the trio, but I had a great time!

Thanks to the organizers.  Good job LW.  When the first slashing attack began it was very impressive looking.  I was saying, "Look how thoes two 109s come down between the bombers.  They were flying and shooting right through the middle of the bomber formation."

Anybody get any film or pictures???

one of 109's was me:) and all cover go after me and we brake p47 formation and take him away from bomber to the lower alt:)
Then 109g6r6 was starting shooting to bombers.

theres a pattern that the allies always follow excorts come in 5 to 10k above the bomber force.

we axis send a few to dance with um while the rest slaughter the bombers. Never fails. The only 1 time I have seen a bomber force get through is when fighters go out in front and sweep the area. But even then it was the discipline of the bomber crew and their formation which got them to and from target. (hiya rip)

That trip to 25k plus just left your bombers exposed and they paid for it. :)


Add in the fact that at the site of the nme the b26s went full man and dispersed their formation making it easy.


If I were an allies I would come up with a new plan :)

Plan?  It was a snapshot, there was no plan.  Mongrels took up 26s and rest flew escort.  Fly toward target and bomb it if you get there.

We didn't have a tactical pow-wow to strategically overcome the enemy forces.  We put up bombers and fighters as a source of entertainment.  And it worksd because I had FUN!!  I believe most others did also.

I'll save my tactics and planning for the BoB.  :)

And rules dont give p47 chance to show what cane he do.

Yup, Excellent night, As usual I did not last long, I fell victim to a bad case of compression in my vain attempt to get down to clear someones 6 and although managed to use trim to avoid becoming a lawndart I found myself sitting directly in front of a P47. On another note HTC moving the SEA to the MA server last night solved all of my lag,warp,connex probs encountered during the last TOD. Doing something similar for the CT would make me a very happy pilot. :)
