Fuel percentages
« on: August 13, 2002, 03:34:10 PM »
The current system has 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, and 125% for fields.  If a field's fuel supply damaged (ie a few bunkers down, but not all) why would EACH aircraft be limited to a certain percentage?  One plane's 50% loadout could be a crapload different than another's.

Not sure of the exact amount, but I assume this is true.  A B17 at 75% has a LOT more fuel in it's tank than a C205 or even P51D at 75%.

I propose that the fuel system at the fields be lowered to an exact amount of gallons or liters as it is being destroyed.  If a B17 can roll with 25% fuel, why can't a Hurricane be filled up to capacity?  (Again, not sure if a Hurricane at 100% = B17 at 25% capacity, but it seems right.)  I'm too lazy right now to get some actual figures... but if anyone is interested I'll do the work.

measure fuel in gals , liters, pounds, etc, instead of %

field fuel bunkers will each have XXXXX gals of fuel , when you put XXX gals in your plane, the fuel at the field reduced by that much. field fuel bunkers are resupplyed by convoy and/or C47, ammo could be treated same way.

if a fuel bunker is destroyed , fuel is lost.

this makes more sense than %, this also gives a field a finite amout of fuel over a set time period (unless resupplyed by players, C47, M3 ), this may slow down the endless reupping from fields.

The system i slike it is so destroying fuel has an effect on all planes.  Make it gallons/litres based and Spits and LA7's and 109's and Yaks and such will almost always be able to take their full fuel load.
