Initial Planes in Beta

This is not a flame (Back off everyone  ) just a query.

Why start off with late war planes?  Would it not have made more logical sense to start with early war planes, and then you just keep adding more planes in a progressive way.

If you start off with late war planes then no one (except early plane dweebs like me) wants to fly early war planes when they become available because they are so used to the performance of the late models.

I see your point and from a pure development standpoint, it makes a lot of sense.  But the stuff that came later makes a good starting point because it gives you a lot of options and also hits a lot of the planes that people readily relate to.  It would be tough to go a year in developing planes before you could even get to a ubiquitous symbol of WWII airpower like the P-51.  I want to mix that up with some lesser known types as well, but a 1944 time frame makes a pretty good starting point for attracting people.

Pyro,
I was just wandering ( as the sweat rolls down my face in this 100 degree 98% humidity)if these planes had air conditioning.

Pyro, pyro pyro.  You are obviously an american.
The true ubiquitous symbol of WWII is the Spitfire/Hurricane combination and the 109 for Europe.

And for the Pacific arena it has to be the Zeke and F4F combination.

P51 Pah!!

Do you think they'd dare release it without the 190?..... No, me neither.

Probably one more US aircraft - the F4U would be my guess.  My money would also be on one or more 'suprise' aircraft that aren't in WB.

Hopefully it'd be A-9. No other game has included it yet.

"You love a lot of things if you live around them, but there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, nor any before nor any after, that is as lovely as a great airplane, and men who love them are faithful to them even though they leave them for others. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be."
