Plane config file & Packet loss counter
« on: September 25, 2002, 07:59:08 AM »
Two items I'd like added to the game is;
  • Plane Config File: A file that retains individual plane settings, like auto climb speed and salvo# as I often change my .speed depending on the plane type and area I'm flying in.
  • Packet Loss Counter: a packet loss counter placed next to the FPS counter when using ctrl-I so I know when I need to relog.

great idea !

A tiny variance and host queue graph would be fine too

it already saves your salvo + delay

I disagree with #1.

Because pyro already set best climb speed in each plane.

I don't always want the "best" climb speed.

There are times when I'm climbing out in a sector with enemy cons around where I want a lower climb rate and higher airspeed.

And if I know I'm going to re-up from the same field in the same plane type or in a similar situation I'd like a file that retains my previous flight settings.

Basically I like to auto trim for an specified airspeed more than for an angle or climb rate.

I'm well aware that .salvo is saved in a file somewhere and I wonder why .airspeed can't be saved in that file as well, after all if my head positions can be saved based on each different A/C why can't I have .salvo and .airspeed saved for each A/C ?

As I change A/C and available loadouts I'd like for .salvo to be save to that particular A/C type, not generically across the board for all my plane choices.

too lazy to type .speed ###  ?

think about what it'd take to save avrious .auto commands, how it'd be implemented...  it's easier an dsimpler across the board for you to take the 1-2 secs needed to do what it is you're trying to do.

salvo command ( both salvo # and delay) *are* saved for each plane, not applied across the board.

here's my a20.slv  file readout:
1,Salvo
50,Delay

my la7.slv:
2,Salvo
50,Delay

c47a.slv:
10,Salvo
50,Delay

p51d.slv:
1,Salvo
50,Delay

simply comparing the la7 and p51d .slv files shows you they're not saved "across the board."

take the time to check thingss out before you ask. :D

FYI, a salvo of 0 will release bombs for as long as you hold the button, with your delay setting aswell
