SOB

If there is one common denominator to all of my puter problems it is clearly me!  (Either that or I'm frigging cursed)

However, I will continue to blame my hardware and software as being the real culprits while fully admitting that I'm stooppid!

Grumble grumble!

OK, Me installed, everything is working fine except I just downloaded AH and got
"An I/O error occured while installing a file. This is normally caused by a bad instalation media, a corrupt installation file, or perhaps your a total %&%#$ MORON and your never going to play AH again (hehe)."
So I deleted everything AH and reinstalled and got the message, "You again?  Your still a moron and you can't play AH! neaner neaner neaner!"

Eskimo, run checkdisk with the "surface scan" option.  (This will take a while.)  I have a feeling that you have a bad hard drive.

Yes, and AH won't finish the install I/O error.

Still think the problem is the DVD configuration Eskimo, however, the harddrive can be bad even though you just bought it. Can be dammaged even though it is brand new.

Eskimo simplify simplify simplify

Breakyour system dwn to barebones

1 HDD  vid card sound card  1 stick memory floppy

then see what it does and again make sure that new HDD is using an 80 wire ribbon cable, 40 wire will be to noisy.

If it wrks bare bones then you have a bench mark to start from

add back new components and then see what happens one item at a time.
