The Ramones covering 'Palisades Park' is a good one.

Also, the best version of 'Hotel California' ever done is done by the Gypsy Kings - it's on the soundtrack for 'The Big Lebowski'.

Normally I don't care much for the Eagles (they are good, just not my style) - but I really like the Gypsy Kings' version.

Sandman, if you liked "Gimme shelter" with TSoM, you gotta hear "Comfortably Numb/Some kind og stranger". Unfortunately only got it as a rather poorish live recording thing.

The Sisters also got "Gimme gimme gimme" which is quite amusing, and "Jolene" which is also fun.

And Bad Religions "Joy To The World" always cracks me up :).

Best cover I got here is Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" by Agent Orange.  It's hard to find...only came out on an EP back in the late 80's.

I forgot this one.  Pete Yorn does The Smiths' "Panic".
I love the town name substitutions.

Ya know I'm not a big fan of either one.
I like some of the Smiths songs but the production on the original "Panic" is so cheesy that I can't listen to it.
I guess I always listened to that song and said, "ya know it would be nice if somebody could record this without cheesy syntho bells and crappy backup singers."  :)

Can't argue with ya. 80's production wrecked almost everything it touched. I can go back and listen to bands recorded in the 70's and 90's... but it's difficult to do that with most of the 80's stuff. You said it... cheesy.

Being a huge Soundgarden fan I'd like to toss out

M.A.C.C. (McCready, Ament, Cornell, Cameron) sorta a super group, the Pearl Jam/Soundgarden All-Stars if you will.. Anway they did a remake of Jimi Hendrixs Hey Baby (Land of The New Rising Sun).   You can find it the Stone Free tribute album.

Soundgarden also did a cover of Come Together by the Beatles.  It's sorta a wierd take on it but I like it. :)
80th FS "Headhunters"
I blame mir.

I kind of like the cover that Jane's Addiction did of the Grateful Dead song Ripple.  Not your typical Jane's song, but pretty damn cool and catchy, IMO.

Baker Street by Foo Fighters. Guitar in place of the sax part is really cool.
