The Masons are very active in the Army and you'll often see favortism directed towards someone who is a member. But you didn't hear that from me.

My grandfather was Scottish Rite and my dad is a mason.  He's never told me a single thing about it.

Hi Apache,
                You need to go get a copy of "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco. It's a huge fat novel and a daunting read but it's all about secret societies and is a totally facinating and engrossing study of the subject throughout history from the Cabal of the ancient Hebrews to the Rosicrucians and the Freemasons. Eco has a doctorate in semiotics which is the study of symdols and their metaphysical relationships across cultures, heady stuff.

       Interesting sidenote, my father's chiropracter is the head of the Rosicrucians in North America and has tried, unsuccessfully, to bring him in to their society. He is a truly facinating character and he thinks very highly of my dad and has shared a lot with him and done many things for him. Anyways, get that book and post back in a couple months after you've plowed your way through it.

Man, freemasons sure are a powerful lot or better said I guess, the most powerful men in the U.S. are/were Masons.

Interesting stuff.
