When I started the TOD’s over a year ago I quickly realized one of the inherent problems with large events is the lack of action some squads may encounter. To avoid this problem (90% of the time) the Admin CM’s send out a list of 3 or 4 targets that must be attacked and 3 or 4 targets that must be defended. When the frame C.O.’s do it write and all the squads show up everyone should see action.
What has and does happen now and again is a squad might not show up at all so if they were slotted to defend a target the attacking squad might find a milk run. Boring to say the least. Or maybe a no show squad was to attack a target, then you have defenders patrolling a field and no one shows up to attack.
Both sides of the TOD’s know what will be attacked, and what is to be defended. How many will show up, what AC the enemy will be flying, routes taken, when, altitude and a few other variables still make it quite exciting.
A CM giving out targets on channel 1 is not a problem.
All it shows is for some reason a squad did not get their info prior to the frame. Who knows why.
