Burning a CD for 60s, 70s, & 80s Easy Listening
« on: December 05, 2002, 10:22:45 AM »
I would like to burn a few CDs for Easy Listening and early Rock and Roll.  I need some help making out a list with song titles and the artists that produced them.  How about helping me make out a list with the top hits from those periods with their artists that could be used by anyone on the bbs that is interested?

Regards, Shuckins

Easy listening from the 70's should include a lot of Jackson Browne.
60's - Simon & Garfunkle

Hmm,..Easy Listening,..could be a broad range of stuff.

Artists wise, here are some picks I would put in that category:

The Eagles
The Beatles
The Turtles
The Grass Roots
America
Jim Croce
Elton John
Chicago (later works)
Gordon Lightfoot

I would add titles, but I am lousy with remembering them.

If it’s for casual listening in home, I highly recommend Direct TV and it’s many music digital channels. They cover it all. If you are making car CD’s, or want a more limited playlist, fine.

Speaking of in home, Jethro Tull’s latest DVD, in which they play “Roots to Branches” was pretty much amazing to me. Being into speed metal mostly except for the masters, RUSH, the technicality of this DVD and mentioned cannot be discounted. Pretty amazing stuff. If you into that era, BUY IT.

And although Gordon can wear you out in 3 songs, how could you not have “The Wreck of the Edmund?!”

That was it Creamo.  The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Also, might as well add John Denver (Calypso) to the list too.

Standing in an elevator for an extended period of time with a pencil and paper will result in a good list..
