So when do we get to know the strategic effect of frame 1 if any ?
Or is that part of next weeks orders ?

LOL!  The thanks should really go to Gremlin with coming up with a system that allows CMs to produce the logs as soon as an event is finished!  :D

I would imagine they will be part of next weeks orders after the detailed logs have been scrutinised!  ;)

Furzy,

I had a very detailed look through the raw logs.

Here, ill just copy and paste the interesting bits

12-08-02 14:29:40 iceMAW Kill Awarded Tilt Seafire Mk IIc 56 firebirds RAF
12-08-02 14:29:40 dawvgrid Assist Awarded Tilt iceMAW No. 272 Squadron "Whispering Death"
12-08-02 14:29:40 Furzy Bad Guy Damage Tilt 1 56 firebirds RAF

What this seems to say is that although you hit a spit (tilt) with one ping, icemaw and dawvgrid had obviously done lethal damage and he died just as you hit him (see it all happens in the same second).  So effectively he was actually dead when you hit him.  Lag stuff!!!

Bottom line is logs are correct.

rgr Grem Knew there was something weird there. I recall that spit falling to bits in front of me. Now looking back on the logs the Number of Assists do seem unusually low?

edit : let it rest Its good enough :)

Hi Fogold,

This happens every time we have F4Us taking off from a carrier fully loaded. They are a squeak to get off the deck.

The other thing I noticed, it also happened in midway, is that the CM moves the CVs a couple of seconds before takeoff. The CV then turns itself just as everyone is trying to get off.

This would not have been helped by the very short waypoints that were set, and it would not let me add a new waypoint. I had to ask Tilt to command the ships later in the frame, no matter what I did it wouldn't allow me to submit the new waypoints.

In future could we have the CVs in position, and allow the Side CO to have them pointed in the right direction before we give the GO order.

PS where in Scotland are you, im in Livingston.

Which is one reason why I left the fields open a bit longer than usual at the beginning of the frame.

I left the placement of the CVs until the last minute before the start time so that anyone logging in on the wrong side would not see their positions before changing to their own side.... I presume you didn't want them to find the CVs too easily?  :)

Sorry, my fault the waypoints were so short, I only really had time to make sure they didnt start back towards where I had just moved them from!  I was hoping someone would take over and make any adjustments.  No idea why you weren't able to change the waypoints.... if you had let me know you were having a problem, I could have looked into it or made any changes myself.  Sorry....  :o

Certainly, if you are willing to risk them being spotted as Axis pilots enter the arena...  ;)

Understood, maybe we could disable side switching 5 minutes before takeoff.

Understood, I had the same problem.

I was hoping someone would take over and make any adjustments.

Next time I will appoint squad COs to move their ships into position, and launch their squad when it has settled down. It is too much for one person to move 4 CVs into position in such a short time. Most squads launch as soon as the CM says GO GO GO but this should be avoided when taking off from a carrier.

Possibly.... I will need to check how, never done that before....  What about late arrivals, though?  Say someone arrives (on the wrong side) just before I disable side-switching - it would give them longer to study the map, presuming side-switching would be enabled again after the start?

That may help.  Might get things right by Frame 3!  :)
