I agree the manual that comes with the game is very, very stale.  It doesn't tell you the hows or whys of what the game does.  It just takes trial and error, and maybe some questions posted on the game's forum.

There is a good tutorial linked to from the orbiter website.

it's a step by step guide to taking off from mars, getting to orbit, and meeting up with each of mars's moons.  Takes about an hour to go through.

Sound module is there at the top, and there is a good tutorial at the bottom.

These questions are more for Orbiter than Aces High.  They have their own forum you could ask them on.

But, I want to help so...

1.  Sound.  There is no sound that comes with the normal game, but there is sound as add-ons that you can download from various websites located in the Links section of Orbitersim.com

2.  There is no way to program the keyboard.  This is freeware, so we're lucky just to have it at all.

3.  Clearance to take off or land isn't needed anymore in this latest version.  Actually, it wasn't really needed before either.  Now it is a dead function though.

Anim8or has it's own website.  http://www.anim8or.com as a matter of fact.

To use it with Orbiter I suggest you get used to Orbiter first, especially learning how to write your own scenario files, and then dig into how to write configuration files for ships.

To convert anim8or files into the type of files that the game uses, you need a converter program that Vinka has written.  He has his own website that is mentioned in Orbiter's Links section.
