swoopy... it's still a c5... It handles better than most people can drive.   Lingefellter is to be respected as should guys like Saleen and Roush.. they all take standard American cars and double the hp and improve the handling and stopping for very little money... you could buy an example of each for the price of one of your dreamcars and everyone of em would beat your ferrari.   You really shouldn't believe all the myths about American cars.   That sub 10 sec car stopped better than your ferrari too and.... you don't have to ship some guy from itally over named guido to pull the entire drivetrain in order to change a throwout bearing.   But... you brits are used to that... 28 hours for a jag throwout bearing replacement.   2 hrs at "clutch-are-us" for the vette or Mustang.

Laz - Thing is laz there is no need for a car with that much power in the uk we have lots of corners, and not flat corners either they all have bad cambers. Also so what if it has 700+ brake its all about power to weight ratio for a 1/4 mile. Take the Tiger Z100WR, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and 0-100 6.3 and it only has 390bhp. A true example of power to weight ratio:)

Goes round corners too:D

swoopy... I know a tiny bit about power to weight... I am over 400 hp in my Healey.   I live in a country with real roads... I have driven all over England and Scotland and never seen a decent road... beats me why you would even want a car over there.   Where I live... ijn order to go anywhere.... you will go around all sorts of corners... a lot of em uphill.   come around a sweeper headed uphill and you might appreciate those 725 hp or 500-600 ft lbs of torque.   Power to weight on that twin turbo vette is very good as is the blown Mustangs.

The car you show looks like an old allard and it appears to have a V8 in it.   No way in hell it will do 0-60 in 2.8 with those tires tho.  I can't break 4.2 in my healey with street tires a couple of inches wider than those on that thing.  I like that car tho... It suits me.   Most people want a little more comfort and some weather sealing... fortunately for you guys... it never rains in england which would explain why you have never built a roadster that could stop even fog from soaking the driver much less a sprinkle or two.... heck... you can't even wash a british roadster without spending a day drying out the interior afterwards.

My favorite:
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

It has twin 1200cc Kawasaki ZX12 engines, no v8 and that 0-60 was done with road legal 225x15" no slicks.

As for no decent roads in the UK there are some excellent country roads.( thats if the rozzers arnt there)

As for no decent roadsters, TVR Tuscan S - superb car same as the new TVR T350. Theres the old E type as well,  new lotus elise. There all out there ure not looking hard enough :)

for me its this, maybe not a really gorgeous car like the cobra,
but a very fast well handling (and obtainable) car and when the wife says you need a sensible family car you can trade it in and get the sportwagon version instead  :D

The old scooby certainly is a great car, shame they had to spoil it with the new one. Since the Evo 7 came out i think i prefer that to the scooby. Went out at the weeked in my cousins evo 7 360bhp :D, i was grinning all night:)
