Well while we are talking Tour 10 stats:

My P51 has 16 kills in a P51 against a Tiffy whos killed me 3 times.  Hmmm....Vulcan, you happened to be in one of those 16 Tiff kills  .

Think Bash has killed me twice tho...best Tiff pilot I've been against thus far.

Pretty damned good zigrat.  

I didn't mean to downplay the roles of those lone wolfers out there who are very competent pilots doing a great job in any plane. Just think the dudes in my squad do a great job and it's good to fly in a 190A8 formation  .

What's more scary; 3-4 N1k's coming in with some separation at various altitudes, or a group of four 190A8's in a loose combat spread, diving in one after each other just like in the movies? Gives me the goosebumps; I LOVE it. It's DAMNED addictive. I mean, sure lone wolfing is fun. But hearing "in"..."in"..."in"..."HORRDIO!" gives a whole other dimension to it.

nathbdp has 228 kills and has been killed 51 times in the Fw 190A-8.

kirin has 242 kills and has been killed 50 times in the Fw 190A-8.

stsanta has 102 kills and has been killed 25 times in the Fw 190A-8.

maik has 263 kills and has been killed 100 times in the Fw 190A-8.

9./JG 54 is *the* 190A8 squad, just like the TAS guys make up *the* P-51 squad  .

Hey, can I at least be proud of my squad for a bit?  . These guys are great; supportive, fun, good sticks, constantly poking at me and each other, always willing to help. Wonder why I don't meet people like this very often in real life. Maybe it has something to do with this common interest.

What I like about squads dedicated to only a limited set of planes is the engagements - two groups of aircraft, two different kinds a huge furball. Beats the hell outta normal quakeish furballing ANY day  .

Gonna improve my 190A8 stats this tour. Said that last tour too, and the tour before that.. JABO doesn't help  . I'm still more effective in terms of K/D in the 109G10, but the A8 is more amusing to fly at the moment.

Getting a new joystick tomorrow. Hope I won't have to relearn how to fly. Tried a borrowed MS PPRO but it sucks. Too few buttons, only one hat and *ridiulous* range of movement on the stick. And (yuck) twist rudder.

Answers:

• Fw 190A-8(1.20:1), fw190A-5(1.10:1) and Bf 109G-10(1.09:1).  The N1k came in 6th at 1.028:1 with the Yak following right behind at 1.026:1.
• The F4u-1D only managed a 1:1 k/d ratio (or better) against one other fighter... the C.205 (20:10).
• The Bf 109F-4 totally dominated the F4u-1D.. winning 17 of the 19 engagements.

Unlike allied fuel weenies, I don't climb to 25-30k and I engage even in situations where I do not have a distinct advantage. I also overstay in most fights (i.e I get greedy, want just one more snapshot get it and then some high cons bear down on me).

Ways to improve stats would be a) fly more carefully, like those P-51 drivers and b) don't do ack strafing.

Both are boring, so I'll improve my stats by...uhm...let's see..uh...
