LCD vs CRT monitors
« on: January 01, 2003, 09:08:58 AM »
As the cost of LCD monitors are beginning to drop, I've been thinking about getting a 19" sometime this year. I love my HMD-400 Sony CRT but it hogs a lot of desk space.

I've heard that when it comes to gaming, plasma screens fall behind CRT's. Opinions please?

I saw a review of TFT screens on TechTV a little while ago... Basically, the refresh rate on the TFTs isn't as good as CRTs, right now... So you get a little muddyness when playing games. But during one of their LAN parties they asked all their guys playing URT2003 on TFTs about it, they said it looked fine, so go figure...

Personally, I would like to get one just to clear desk space!

depends on the speed at which the LCD pixels turn off and on.
action games and high-speed motion will 'trail' with slower LCD's.
