Im not just really smart at the computer stuff but I was looking at my irqs because of Framerate problems. Found out that it looks like this.

Is your BIOS set to plug and play OS?
Move some cards around in different slots...
Are you using your com ports?  If no then disable them in the BIOS.

Sound and NIC same IRQ= PITA (pain in the ass)
You didn't provide much hardware info , what motherboard do you have?

W2k manages its own IRQ information and you should not change those setting unless there is a particular conflict that the OS does not know how to handle.  Multiple devices can share the same IRQ information.  Just because you have multiple things sitting on IRQ 9 is not necessarily indicative of anything bad happening.

Since your Mother board is ACPI you can not force a change of IRQ information.

u can force irq changes in win2k, go to the device manager double click computer,driver tab ,update driver, select from a list,chose standard pc ,install driver , reboot, the system will then redetect all its devices and seperate the irqs, i did it ,works like a charm   , no more irq sharing   38

38Ruk is right, changing your machine from ACPI to a Standard PC will remove all the IRQ sharing, though it does stop nice things like Auto turn off when shutting down and a couple of power saving things. If you can live with out that, its worth doing... make sure you back up anything important first though just in case.

Also what type of Motherboard is it? I see you are running a Intel P3, if your motherboard an Intel chipset (should be able to find out by looking under divice manager -> system devices.. it will say "Intel xxxxxxx" a number of times. Other wise it might say "Via xxxxxx" or I think even SIS and ALI made P3 boards.

yep I missed the win2k ref ..

I third what 38ruk stated - that is the only way to get windows2000 from auto assigning ur IRQ's. After you do that then it is back to the hardware level where you can move cards around depending on how the motherboard shares its irq (refer to manual)

normal biz apps can share irqs without problem but some boxes cough when an app like AH tries to use several devices at the exact same time. your irq 9 is being shared by every major piece of gear you need to play AH thus the hesitation

Ok, I have done what you suggested and here is the results. I have only done a couple of sorties but major improvement. Frames in 70-80.

Actually I've never managed to change the acpi off that way. I always had to do full reinstall with acpi disabled.

My system went totally porked if I disabled acpi after installing with acpi enabled.
