its pretty much an easy mode feature for all tailwheel aircraft in aces high.

during landin with the brakes on you cant nose the plane over at all.

perfectly level always.

its an easy mode help I dont need and I dont want.

As soon as the braking on the Mustang and a couple of others are fixed and we get ajustable braking power, I agree.

When I land, and I'm rolling on the runway, I apply full back pressure and then I brake while still maintening the full back pressure. Doing so, the tail wheel doesn't even take off from the ground till a full stop.

I'd rather see the takeoffs fixed first. Full power takeoffs in the Spitfire using only trim, uh huh... and the G-10 too, with WEP on...

Frenchy,

Try that with the Mustang. Even when slowed to 10 mph there is no way to get the tail to sit down, with the exception of tapping on the space bar like your sending morse code at one hundred words per min and even then the tail bounces with every tap.

One other plane I've flown does this also I think it's the Spit IX. The rest are fine, set her down in a nice three point attitude and maintain back pressure and the tail wheel will stay down on the roll out.

Should I ask how fast you are going when you land. I've helped a couple of people in the training arena with this problem. Typically they are just coming in to land too fast, gear creaking, slamming the bird on the runway and slamming on the brakes. Try slowing down the approach a bit and get some nose up alt with lots of flaps. You can then use a little back-pull in the stick to plant the tail and make the nose stay up while applying all the brakes you want.

Soda, I've the film if u want, I come in, float just over the runway at a ldg height and lat the plane 'stall' on the runway, so I touch down 100-110. Usually when I touch down it's the 3 wheels at the same time and I'm almost already full back pressure.

Yeah...just land in a P51 - the tailwheel will be off the ground until you come to a complete stop, at which time your ass-end will come crashing down and bust it off... unless you morse-code the brake key as suggested earlier!

Hi all,

What I'm talking about has got to be a bug with the Mustang. I've tried to explain this to HT online one time, but I'm sure he didn't realise that I know how to land a plane (at least in flight sims anyway

) and thought I was just whining. Any way I know that at least one other plane does it too, I'm pretty sure it's one of the Spitfires. Spitfire drivers?? Anyone Anyone??
