Thanks to newguy and Sling322

Sling and I were on our way to a milkrun at 17K till newguy showed up and extracted revenge for our bombing of Rome.

We bombed the flak factory and the HQ complex near A25 which is about where Rome sould be on the Med map.

Newguy defended in a G10, I think, and shot one B17 down and was shot down by the other.

It was an enjoyable 1 hour and 35 minutes and I did not see a single roach.

Tommorrow evening around 9PM US Eastern time I will be off again to bomb something on Corsica  or Sicily or Italy.

I sure would like some Allied European theater planes to escort and opposition from European Axis planes but I will bomb without both if necessary.

I think, if no one shows to defend I can conquer Italy and Southern France this tour.

Trouble is, when I logged in earlier tonight there was no sod in there, so I went to the MA as usual.

Yeah Swoop....I did the same thing.  Then SC popped into the main and announced "Axis beware, I am on the way to bomb Rome!"  I then logged out of main and headed into the Med arena.  I ended up getting a kill on Newwguy after we bombed Rome and were headed home.  He then upped again and attacked us out over the Med.  By this time SC was outta fuel and I was flying very slow and trying to help cover him.  The darn enemy icons screwed me because I forgot that the arena is set up for enemy icons at 3k or something like that.  I had Newwguy on visual and turned to find SC so that I could form up with him a little better and by the time I turned around Newwguy was lighting me up from my high 6.  Dammit... <S> Newwguy!  Thanks for joining us last night.  Anybody else who wants to come in is welcome.  Like SC said....non-blue Allied escort or Axis attackers are welcome.

Thanks Manedew and Goat10.

I entered the Med SEA to find Goat10 outbound to Rome in a Lancaster which met its demise over the Med at the hands of a Typhoon, a clear case of mistaken identity.

Goat10 and I then set off in B17s to bomb something in Sicily and were overtaken by Manedew in a 202.

Manedew made several good passes but we had good tight formation and he was last seen without a wing going down.

We continued to the target and were again met with several more very good passes by Manedew in a 202 again and again he went down.

Manedew, thanks for sticking in and attacking a superior force when odds were against you.

We bombed an airfield because I could not find the target I thought was in the area.

I appreciate you guys showing up at my self imposed Elba.

OK HA guys, come to the Med, grab your favorite German or Italian plane and stop my mad Quest for World Domination!

Or grab a B17 or some ETO/MTO allied plane and help me.

I will give Deleware to the first escort to shoot down an axis plane.

We do not need a hundred guys, all we need is a dozen WWII aircraft flightsim pilots.

Axis a bunch!!!!

I had some great company tonight (Friday) and got shot a lot.

Six in, icons off, historical, to a point limited by the planeset, matchups and a whole different sim happens.

Drag yourselves out of the PLAYPEN and join us in the MED.

 It takes a few minutes to find or be found by the bad guys but it is a much more intense encounter.

You do not need 50 guys either.

My friend I am kicking myself for not flying on friday.  I got drunk at my company Christmas party and fell asleep. You can count me and my pony in for scorting the forts to the target tonite leme know what time

Sorry about not showing last night, I had a headache from hell all day {musta got Pollocks hangover} and was out by 7pm.

I will stop by the main and recruit today around 2 Eastern but you guys do not need me to get going.

When I am in I fly a B17 and bomb something Axis, I hope for opposition and escort and there is where anyone else interested gets involved, stop me in Axis ETO/MTO planes or escort me in Allied ETO/MTO planes.

Since flying 1 mission in the PLAYPEN arena this tour all my time has been and will be, until that map is gone, in the MED.

Turn off icons and fly theater specific planes is the only request.

I am voluntarily bombing from 20K max, usually lower and fighters may voluntarily limit to 23K if they wish to fly in the spirit intended.

There is no scoring and the radar setup favors Axis.

Axis as rooks can see dot radar for friendly and enemy, Knights as Allies only see friendly {green dots}.

This is a CM setting and only they can change it, I suggest only friendly dots for all.

The no icons is a hoot, very hard to judge when to shoot and you MUST be looking hard for the bad guys with radar only on friendly dots.

Was there today , had a blast   Storming on B17's with No icons is realy immersive, poeple should try it IMO...

Had company all weekend and couldnt get up....err I mean fly.    I will join you as soon as I can....maybe tonight depending on the situation.  I am going through little withdrawal symptoms already.
