Time to change squad ops rules
« on: April 01, 2003, 12:28:45 AM »
Last sunday TOD I flew 262. In about 45 minutes after frame start I was disconnected. I have not seen any enemy, or any action before it happened. According to rules I was not allowed to start again.

Now, lets calculate. It took me total about 40 minutes to wait for event start. Then 45 minutes in no action flying, and about 5 min. after this talking with CM. 1:30 minutes for nothing. Just totally wasted time.

How about changing SqO rules finally? Losing TCP or being disconnected is too strongly affects fun factor with this event.

Fariz..

Theres nothing wrong with the rules.. If we didn't have them we'd have people crying to get back in all the time.  Or even people trying to game the system so their 'not' killed while in flight.

Yeah.. you get pissed off.. but I don't see the need to change the rules.

I specially not post the problems same day or even next day, I usually get time to think about it and not be affected by emotions.

And you shall not think so bad about people. In Neimen, where all had 1 reup after disco, it was ok. And SqO has lot of AH vets, and squads which gained their reputation thru the years.

I do no see what the problem with reups, I see lot of problems with not letting people to do so.

You shall see that inspite the big influx of people to AH, SqO losing it numbers, not getting more. There are several possible problems I see, one of the main is restricted reups.

I think you took this a bit too personal..if I sound that way I'm sorry.

But I don't think it's worth making an issue out of it.  I've been disco'd half way thorugh a senario as well..  And I know it's a risk that is taken every time.  But, saying it's causing less attendance.  I don't think so. And the 15min's thats given into the senario is more then fair.

But hey its just a game :D

The problem is that folks not so honest would start taking advantage of that, they're all alone, get jumped, alt-F4, then log back in and tell the CM they got disco'd.

I'd vote to leave it as is...consider the disco the fog of war.

Sqad ops needs to incorporate 2 tasks per squad/person each frame.

If you die or are disco'd after cut-off, you can go on to your secondary task.
