That would be the one sure way to screw it up worse than it already is. :D

talking and doing are not the same, southwest and jet blue (they have the same biz plan) prove they can fly and make profit, other airlines will have to change or be replaced.

i'm not in favor of mergers, you take two airlines that are losing money and merge them , you now have a bigger airline that is losing money.

anyone remember republic airlines , a regional that was well run and profitable , it was bought by a money losing big airline.
after the buy out, republic was gone and the biggy still was losing money.

I work in the commercial airlplane manufacturing business and I can tell you its ugly right now.  15 years and all it has done since late 1999 is get worse.

If you know a young person looking for a proffessional career steer them clear of this one.  A big upset is on the way and the rebuild, provided it occurs, will likely happen overseas where highly trained engineers and mechanics will work for a few bucks a day and no benifits.

How about nationalized health care first...I would think that's a little more important.  ;)

What do the Canucks have to do with it?  They put cheese curds and gravy on french fries for crying out loud.  Plus they go around saying 'eh all the time, which to me means they can't be trusted, eh!

PS: The Canadian government wants to give Air Canada yet another $500 million dollers in loan garauntees, because they don't know how to run a business.
