This forum used to be pure gold for swapping sound files.

What the hell happened?

They really make that r2d2 sound?
Nice quality files, but I think i'd go bonkers listing to that little musical ditty for long ... assuming I ever flew the 262.... :p

Might have something to do with the need for hosting space to put files up.  Can't just stick'em in the message any more ... or can you?

Anyway ... for LW fans, here's a mk108 sound, which I think is quite righteous.
I comes from a recording of the real thing.

Ding! Dennis is the winner. My original soundpack host went belly up, and I don't know anyone who's willing to fork over 30+ megs in addition to letting me upload the thing. One kind soul here offered to host it, but on the restriction that I e-mail (!!) a 35 meg soundpack to him. Since I'm using dial-up, that wasn't possible. The local hosts around here are kinda steep price-wise, and what I pay in just ISP fees is high enough. Hopefully this summer I'll be able to finally get a host running and have a permanent spot for the soundpack.

If inquiring minds want to know about a new soundpack, the answer is yes. As to when, that's still very much a matter of "????"

2Hawks, did you send me an e-mail around a week ago about this? If you did, I'm sorry I didn't reply to it; somehow it went out with a mass of SPAM I got on the same day. If it wasn't you, then send me an e-mail with the details and we'll bash something out!

Worst case, thanks a load for the offer
Best case....FINALLY! A new host! LOL
