Enola Gay

I'm taking bets now. If we get the B-29 as a perk, who here thinks it will be the Enola Gay?

<gets out pad and pen>

Edit: Or Fifi?

I don't know if you know this texace but the Enola Gay was a one of a kind stripped down version of the B-29 specifically set up to deliver the atomic bomb and nothing else. We will get a standard model designed for convectional bombing I'm sure. I herd that the Enola Gay was so light when free of the atom bomb it could out climb any escort fighter of it's day. That is just a story I herd but it gives you a feel for the extent of the modification done to reduce weight to haul the A-bomb.

Gawd I hope it's neither. Those two are SOOO bland.

Must have...color! There's alot better looking 29's out there.

I bet gunnery on the 29 is going to be a headache, unless in the tail gunner position there's multiple blisters for aiming with rather narrow fields of view because the gunners couldn't lean out into them due to the sight. Then there's the frame hit from the bunks in the rear gunner compartment....

and the gazillion gauges in the engineer's position...

Yes I know that the Enola Gay was stripped down for the A-Bomb, I just ment the nose art.

As for color, perhaps I can go get a pair of fuzzy dice?

Sorry texace I misunderstood what you were saying.   I think I would like to see one with some more color myself. I can't wait to see some of these plane in the air.
