OK, time for my $0.02. There is a big difference between good natured trash-talk and patently offensive, abusive tirades directed at one player yet made in public. I presume that we are all mature enough to know the difference.
I would also bet that these "posts from hell" would never be as vulgar and abusive as they are if the "Combatats" were face to face. The anonymity and security of the internet is a wonderful tonic to icrease one's testosterone level.
So here's my pitch: We members of the AH community all agree to use the buffers in the game and this board for in a manner that is not patently offensive. If an issue arises that would call for a "one on one, no holds barred sh-t fit" It will be handled directly AND personally with that person.
In order to facillitate such direct, personal contact, my phone at home is (313) 881-7717. Anyone who feels the need to ventilate regarding my actions can do so immediatly and directly. I doubt there will be many takers when the option is direct contact, and the price of a long distance phone call. But if there is is a real issue that is so egredious that a vitriatic response such as we have seen recently is the only recourse, then I would expect and deserve such a response directly.
I invite the rest of this community to take the same oath to not hide behind the security of the internet. Don't post anything here that you would not trully say to that persons face.

With ya there DR00 !

People keep calling this an "Adult" forum or game.  Well..I think adults should act like adults.

BTW.. for us U.S. and Canada Citizens, the phone call would be free.
MSNMessenger provides FREE PC-to-PHONE long distance anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

Though...LOL... I'm expecting Microsquish telemarketers to start phoning me on my PC.

Regards,
Snoopi

This really cracks me up at times.  This is indeed public, but on a scale most people don't realize when they expose their "Jerk" side.

What they don't realize is that is indeed public and very much more so.  It is globaly public.

Inside the game itself your are only exposed to a micromism of that global public.

But...

You post on this BBS and are a "Jerk", you are now in the maximized global public.  The whole global population can have access and read what you have written here.

LOL

It is so funny at times how people will act in front of the Entire Flipping World while they maintain the calm assuredness of being anonimous.

Kind of scary really.

So far nobody has and I've ran into alot of guys I have had some pretty good words with But the funny thing is when you meet them in person its usually a diffrent story We usually end up buying a few beers and talking  about the only thing worth talking about in life.....how to get better at killing the other guy in the MA

The thing is I can be a loudmouth and irritate people...oh well...I'm like that in RL to

Computer keyboards should be licensed. Totin a laptop in a carry case should be considered the same as carrying a concealed weapon.. the bastid should get life with no parole if caught in public.

Call yer congressman. Email the president. Club yer little sister sensless with the mouse the next time you catch her on AOL.

Lets stamp out this insidious deadly weapon BEFORE it kills again!

Well said Dr00.
I agree completely. One thing that can be done is to not be part of the problem. What I mean is this, if you are shot down or someone makes a dweeb mistake or  you are just fixing to boil over about something you just saw try saluting the guy or at least maintain a very level headed conversation with him regardless of his reaction.

It's called  Control. We all have it in ourselves to control our tempers, it is just a matter of making a point to do so.

I appreciate those thoughts you posted Dr00 and if anyone has a real problem with something I may have done, real or imagined, call me personaly at area  code 817-841-0226. Then vent away :-) Perhaps we can come to an understanding and not involve anyone else in it.

Wow MarkAT...that concept is borderline adult! Is there a place for adult behavior in flight sims?  Damn right there is! Thx for a well spoken opinion!

Maybe it is time to post our numbers in the buffer when someone starts venting away. Invite them to make it personal and "PRIVATE"
instead of cluttering and ruining others enjoyment.
