Looking for a highly skilled group to fly with?
« on: May 21, 2003, 02:13:36 PM »
Well why not set your sights a little lower and try flying with a group that needs new guys and veterans of online flight games. VF-17 is looking to fill some roster slots and get some permanent names on aircraft. Right now we have 6 members but are looking  for more people to join us in our weekly flights. We mainly fly F4U-1's but are known to step out and enjoy ourselves in other rides as well.

If you are interested contact me or Arlo through the VF-17 website linked in my signature or by sending me an email through the profile link here on the board.

Just remember that with "The Jolly Rogers" Its all about the adventure.

A right motley looking crew but they did the job. We (AH's virtual VF-17) aren't nearly as skilled or good looking but we try. ;)

Carrier ops planned a week from Thursday. All blue bird squads welcome. (All IJ opfor just as welcome)

Y'know, I would love to join VF-17 "Jolly Rogers" and I'm big fan to fly Corsair too, but the bad news is that I need to subscribe to Online and my two weeks trial is over.  Anyway, Maybe i'll subscribe next week and maybe I can contact you?  Arlo told me about VF-17 at Combat Theater and I was really impress about this. :)

Hiya Major Day! HOORAH! :) I hope you do subscribe ... whether you choose to apply for a slot with us squids or not. You're welcome to fly with us. There's also other fine dedicated hog units out there ... VMF-222 is looking for new blood too. Not that I'm trying to talk you out of flying with the JRs. I'm not sure what the skipper's current policy on Marine exchange pilots is at this time (unless you're not particular about wearing ice cream suits. ;)

Squire! Hi! Saw ya flyin the other night. I hope I didn't embarrass meself too much.

Howdy MajorDay, When ever you feel like getting in there and flying with us that is great. I am kinda outta the loop at the moment due to hardware issues and just having a newborn arrive last week. So for the time being Arlo is kinda running things and he should be your contact point. I am looking forward to getting back ASAP and at least flying a night or two in the next couple of weeks.

Squire,

At least our "used Hog" still has the correct paint scheme on it. Unlike that Fleet Air Arm crap you guys have... ;) BTW I have a great deal on a slightly shot up Seafire for you. Only dipped in salt water once and missing a tail. Its a steal I tell ya. :D

Due to Arlo's ineptitude while Reshke was out, the VF-17 has filed Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  All pilits are asked to turn in their hogs for the government auction.

It seems that Arlo got hammered and lost the squad at an area casino.

Oh ... I go hammered ok .... but it was 13th Sentai pinkslips I put up as collateral. ;)

On a more serious note.

All new recruits will recieve their very own tin skeleton key to the sheep's pen.

We have openings for division and section leaders. Traditional F4U tactics are encouraged. Carrier ops are routine. Fighter sweeps, escort missions, strike missions and fleet cap are equally stressed.

"With hook, wheels and flaps down, Tom came up the groove, hanging on his prop at 90 knots. Catwalk Cummings picked TK up with a Roger and held the "okay" signal until it was time for the cut. The Corsair, which bore it's typical resemblence to an old lady with her skirts at half mast and ready to go potty, touched down on three points without even the hint of a bounce.

Bally turned to me and answered my grin with one of his own. 'He's qualified.' Then the skipper turned to his phone talker, who had a hot line to all essential stations in the ship. 'Tell Pri Fly to have the pilot of that Corsair to report to me as soon as he's parked.'

Shortly, TK reported with a snappy, 'Lieutenant Killefer, Captain. You sent for me?'

   'Well done, Killefer. Any problems?'

With an absolute straight face, TK responded, 'Thanks, sir. No sweat. It was just like stabbing guppies in the toilet with a three pronged fork.'

Captain John rolled his eyes heavenward as he turned to me. 'Jesus, Tommy, are all these guys as outrageous as you?"

I've been flying a Spitfire and liking it in the CT.

(hangs head)

No ... it's true.

I've been flying some German planes ... man ... they blow .. up.

Dammit.

(Hangs head)

So I went back to Spits.

Oh cod, they're addictive.

The perfect cure for poor ACM skills, mediocre joysticks, etc.

But ... I still like my Hog.

*Sigh*

I'm so ashamed.

I need a drink.

Oh ... btw ... we're recruiting. :D
