Check this story out. I live in Louisville Kentucky. I was sitting in CAD class in high school, my Junior year (99-00), and this old man walks in. He starts snapping a few pictures with the camera around his neck and talks to my teacher. Then he comes and walks around the different computer stations. So I start talking to him and it turns out he went to my high school in the 1930s. Far more interesting, he was a P-38 pilot in North Africa and had ~250 combat hours. He lived up north somewhere and had driven down to Kentucky when he heard about Glacier Girl (which was restored in central kentucky). We talked about the planes in Greenland and about the B17s there too, then he left. I didn't ask him if he had any kills, felt it would have been inappropriate. Not sure if its the same with air-combat, but some fellas get upset when asked if they have ever killed someone.
