Cheap hell. It was damned near free (minus the cost of my AH account, that is).

Sure, if some duels will make you feel better, I'm all for it. But don't waste my time (or yours) making stipulations. I'll just do my best to shoot you down and not let you shoot me down. It's a simple philosophy (for a simple man).

Sounds familiar.....Although my experience was with just a few guys here and there. Other late war pac setups have been much worse.

Anyway this was a great setup, I found mostly good fights. Tried the F4u-1, a plane I never flew before. Only 2 sorties.

I ground looped on aturning cv then Gruen Caught my in an excellent timed lead trun in which I greatly under estimated his speed. I never got to fire a shot in it so maybe next time.

The next one isnt my cup of tea but it looks interesting. I havent had more then 30-40 min at a time this week to fly but looking forward to when it comes round again.

I thought this was one of the better setups for the most part the planes we fairly matched had a lot of good fights,but also did a lot of chaseing around of the runners,but hey I did some runnin to.It was strange to see mainly f4u's with the positional advantage either not enguage at all or right at the merge imediatly dive away either to ack or back to where they came from.

Key, I had around 38 kills and 4 deaths flying the F4U. All but one death was due to HOs. GoP or something like that just snuck right up on my and plastered me.

I flew the George last night and died almost every sorty. 13 kills 6 deathsI lost multiple 4 kill sorties. I got low slow and died to B&Z.

The reason I ran while flying the F4U is due to the fact that even if I avoided the HO, I could not turn. I was loosing wing tips right and left with one pass (snap shots) pings or D800 spray and pray. Never did I ever (that I recall) kill a George on the first snap. A6M5s were ten time harder to kill than the George. Every single time I would cause a fuel leak no matter how hard I hit him. Very seldom did I finish one off, but managed to get secondary credit.

I landed many time minus wing tips, even ditched a few beside the CV. Actually once I even turned the CV to me and waited till it got to me to exit!!

I can say with pretty good authority that naj is neither blind nor a damn idiot.
He did express an opinion -- while not universal, at least common among axis fliers in the past two PAC setups -- that allied fliers appeared to be running to the safety of their ack a lot.

It's what it looked like from our vantage point. We squeaked and moaned some. OK, a lot. Get over it. It is kinda funny how folks try to justify it. Anyway, in the end, it's all in the name of fun, right?

And yeah, I couldn't blame anyone for not wanting to turn fight a George. Of course I didn't fly the George at all this past week. I can only attest to the gonad-deprived hog and hellcat drivers who ran screaming like little girls at the sight of my ki61 peddling feverishly uphill toward them at d3.0. ....

ROTFL Slash your killing me!!:D I have to admit though , in the new setup yesterday. I upped in an F4U4 , after one sortie of Spit14s gang raping me , and stealing my lunch money. up I ran to the fleet ack when 3 of them came at me the next hop. The thought went through my mind " yep what else ya gonna do?

By the third hop I had wised up and found the Tempest. That was a better ride to deal with the spit14s.
Although I gotta say , Shane after a few hours of telling us how bad we sucked. Came over and flew the F4U , and the first thing he did was go out and whip some spit14's prettythang in a low level dogfight.

You would think that, but with all this BS that goes on in here and on the TB, I think that is where the frustrations are coming from. Well it is for me, it's starting not to become fun anymore. Seems like anymore if you don't fly the plane to it's limitations you get nothing but called a dweeb. That's the only crap that frustrates me.... So anymore I am just going to keep my mouth shut on Channel one... As for the GV thing, well war is hell... if you don't want to get killed by them... SA. I know I am going to get cracks on this....
