Not because of the aircraft rotation, that is good, generally. My gripe is with the player database being reinitialized with each tour of duty. I'd prefer that it not be reinitialized at all.
Instead, make a child database for the current ToD, so that players can see how they're doing, but also allow for a career record(parent database). This makes it more 'historical' and allows for those who haven't the time or resources to play frequently to have at least a career record they can aspire to.
Personally, I'd like to see if anyone could repeat the number of sorties that real aces survived. It wouldn't be historical, given the frequency of encounters per sortie in these online flight sims, but it would bring in a different approach to the fore: long-term survival. And having a permanent database for players that is not reinitialized ever would give "Historical Pilots" something to 'shoot' for.
