Dislike Tour of Duty rotation used in WB

Not because of the aircraft rotation, that is good, generally.  My gripe is with the player database being reinitialized with each tour of duty.  I'd prefer that it not be reinitialized at all.

Instead, make a child database for the current ToD, so that players can see how they're doing, but also allow for a career record(parent database).  This makes it more 'historical' and allows for those who haven't the time or resources to play frequently to have at least a career record they can aspire to.

Personally, I'd like to see if anyone could repeat the number of sorties that real aces survived.  It wouldn't be historical, given the frequency of encounters per sortie in these online flight sims, but it would bring in a different approach to the fore: long-term survival.  And having a permanent database for players that is not reinitialized ever would give "Historical Pilots" something to 'shoot' for.

The key here is reliablity of the data.

I was wanting to do something similar for
WB, but the data dumps aren't reliable enough.
If one weeks worth of data is lost, career
stats are kinda mute.

Wow.  Why was the database so unreliable?  This is a little confusing to me.  It sounds like a coding problem, not a hardware problem.

Me too, but I can't look at the code that is
producing the dumps.

Gunnery is totally porked right now.  I
believe gunning from a turret on a buff
counts hits toward gunnery but not misses!
Theres people with 300% gunnery.

Last time I was up WBs strafing counted to gunnery.

I normally don't go edit my messages afterwards but that was very unclear reply. I meant it as a comment to support that WB gunnery is funny rather than try and explain why there are people with 300% gunnery

p.s. ever get my mail about AH score pages?
