Why "night time" should go away (MA)
« on: August 17, 2003, 02:12:30 PM »
Night looks neat...  I love the atmosphere.  The moon is pretty enough to make ya wanna serenade your girl as your flying along (it doesn't work btw... unless she's a geek too).  Anyway, the Night effect in AH has(d) a place in the MA.

For a while, (no kidding) every time I logged on any time between 7pm and 11pm, the sun was either going or had gone down.  Ok fine, so it's night... I log off.  Why?  lets consider.  Why would a guy log off just because it's "night", given the fact that the guy LIKES the night thing.

Easy:  Gamma

If you elect to fly "night", and do so in the fashion in which it was meant to be done (in the dark), your at a serious disadvantage.  Seem's as though most everyone knows, a simple system tweak makes the so-called night, DAY!  Whenever I'd log on and make a statement on ch1, I'd always get schooled by loads of folks explaining the Gamma deal.

So, why would I want to fly around blind while most everyone else isn't?  Matter of fact.... why have Night at all?

Maybe the guys at HTC could just turn the DA or the SEA (when not in use) into a night only arena.  See how massively that would be populated.

Its just plane redikulus

lol have no icons and dot dar everywhere with only 110s, lancs and mossies haha

that would be pretty interesting and I would even play it once in a while

but to have this dayvfr fighters acting as half bellybutton night fighters chasing icons is rediculous

ditch the night in ma and ct and give it its own arena.
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Better yet, fix it so gamma and contrast won't affect the brightness. Before doing that;

1. Allow radar to be put on aircraft for a minor perk cost (3 should do fine. It will also allow gents to have radar when their HQ is down.

2. Allow/make it so fields can fire flares and spot lights if there is a friendly fighter defending a base.

3. Lastly, even if radar is down don't countries have coast watchers and people with binocs to supplement radar?

The ones who love it mostly use gamma correction to advance.

i hate the night as it works in AH MA.

But ill fly it just becoz sometimes there is no time to wait it's over.
(without gamma correction)

I'm a pretty stocky standard type of person when it comes to games.

Either no night at all until we get nightfighters and on board radar

OR

no night during Prime Time US.

We do have fighters that were used as night fighters as well as onboard radar - coupled with GPS.
