Yep, F4U was considered ugly, sucked in the Pacific theatre didn't it?

Actually I think it is "freakin" ugly, and as for the afore-mentioned "ugly" planes, f4u, a-10, etc... I think these are beautiful planes. Form = function = beauty

The JSF has no primary function that I'm aware of, hence it is of course ugly.

F4U is great looking because of its wings, P47 looks just like any other WW2 fighter.. except for its size imo, and the A10 is just a WORK OF ART. Damn I love that puppy.

This THING is plain BUTT uggly. Looks like an f16 slapped on top of a 767's engine fan. Hey, maybe thats what it is! Heehee

LW planes are ugly (except for the me262.. niice plane)... but think about it.. they're GERMAN. They HAVE to be ugly

F-22 isn't exactly pretty....but compared to this monstrosity, its a friggin work of art!

USA should have gone with the F-20 back when they were considering it. Damn fine fighter....good looking and pretty cheap, too.

F-117 was originally a total failure...it has the F designation because it was intended to be a fighter, but lacks any kind of useful performance....but it turned out to be really useful for quick hit-and-run strikes. The Wobblin' Goblin isn't pretty, that's for sure.
