you know..

if you want a gun to keep em in line just get a $150-$200 .22 revolver. decent action and light (easy to keep handy)

load it with .22 snake shot shells (tiny little shotgun shells with super tiny bb's)

1 round even 1/2 on target will make hamburger outta a snake @ 10 yards... but also not usually life threatening to people (if you're worried about safety)

Hey RPM,

Consider Minnesota, nothing poisinous here, a few rattlers supposedly in southeast corner, but almost unheard of. Never heard of a poisinous spider, bug etc in the woods here. About the only thing to worry about is the deer tick carrying Lyme disease, but even that is not very common, and can be treated.

Of course, it is 10 degrees F out right now and we just had 6" of snow in the last 2 days.

But, our Spring, Summer and Falls are better than anywhere else, and alot of Minnesotans love snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, etc.

all in all, a mighty nice place to live, and no freaking snakes.

suckers...not only do we not have snakes around where i am...but we also dont have rats or roaches...we do have mice but ive only seen maybe 3 we have mosquitos but not to many since the wind just blows them away for the most part...

the worst we have is about 4-5 months of -20 with a few bouts
of -30 - -40

oh and we have about 4 bald eagles in the area...

Ah yes, the Minnesota State Bird, the mosquito.

I have a bunch I keep in a pen on the roof, we take them to a distant location and then time them to see how long it takes them to get back home, with little notes attached to their legs.

Last summer was one of the mildest mosquito seasons I can remember, not enough rain to hatch the little parasites.

Beetle is right we don't have snakes in Ireland and the only cockroaches I've seen were in a jar in school. As for the women, well you may have heard of a group called the Corrs. Well here in Ireland we call them 'The ugly sisters' LOL Ignore the brother and don't drool too much.

The weather is..... well the weather but it's cooler than England in the Summer and warmer in the Winter, snow is a rarity. Even the rain is warm.

No the only snakes we have are in the Zoo and in politics

I cannot begin to express the horror of the flasbacks/visuals I know have as a result of that story lazs. I could have gone all my life not hearing a story that involved you wearing only a pair of cowboy boots and a gun. But no... you had to ruin that for me and several others.
