Hehe Trey,
I know that was a troll, I'll have to let you ride mine someday if we can ever hook up for a ride. Maybe I can make it down there to San Antonio sometime this fall.

I will agree with you on the overpriced part though. I bought a $10 chrome battery cover that I had to pay $35 for, a chrome electrical box cover that should have sold for $25 for $80. Would have bought elsewhere but no one else offers those two particular items to fit my scooter.

As far as teeth rattling... these newer Harleys are amazingly smooth, have nice ride qualities and are generaly comfortable. Also, havn't seen any oil leaking or oil consumtion yet. Granted, I only have 500 miles on it right now.

they put in rubber motor mounts in Harleys some time ago.   got rid of the kicker.

one of my guys at work has a dresser looking Harley with a lot of engine work done... cnc ported heads, cam big bore etc.   he also has a suzuki hai... whatever... takes turns riding em.  The Harley is no slouch.  The suzuki is faster but it sounds like crap and has a laughable seating position.   I doubt I will ever notice one going by or in a parking lot... not even worth a glance.   esthetically unpleasing.   The Harley sounds great and looks great.  I can tell from a block away that it has a nice little cam in it.

Riding is more than being the fastest but you can be very fast with a Harley if that is what you want.   If I was ponly concerned with that I would by the BossHog in 502/502.

Lazs-

Thats a Hayabusa.  Yea its slightly faster.  I think it is actually capable of 200+MPH, hopwever Suzuki has limited the speed on it to 183 MPH for safety reasons...LOL.  The seating position is rather aggressive, but it seems comfortable and those that I have spoke with that own one testify to that.  It all boils down to what the individual wants.

Here is my bike.  It has a good seating position,  142 HP,  10.5 second 1/4 mile,  45 mpg,  and it fits my needs for giving me the fun factor I require.  The acceleration on this thing is exillerating.

in 2001 or 2002 they started counter-balancing the pistons with a weight on the flywheel to cancel out engine vibrations.  they call it the twin cam 88B.

Mark, I never would have even responded to MiniD if it weren't for the fact my wife and I are attending the West Coast Mini Con. Like I said, I've retired from posting, but my concern is that we'll be sitting down to eat dinner and MiniD will start in on me over my marriage or whatever from the next table.

I really don't want to have to take MiniD on a long walk on the beach to try and calm him down while my wife enjoys herself at the banquet.

Not with all those FDBs that will be there.

Now leave me alone and let me rest in peace.

ammo... I rode both bikes.   The suzuki is faster.   Not world of difference faster but faster... the Harley sounds better and the suzuki is horrible to ride.   You feel like the doctor has told yu to assume the position for your rectal.  You look like a fool riding those sport bikes and I couldn't tell yours from his in a parking lot except for color, and I see his allmost every day.

I wouldn't ride the suzuki where people might see me.   I would ride the late model Harley but... I would just as soon ride an old troublehead or pan... even a knuck.   Something with a kick starter.

I have ridden/driven a lot of very fast things.   It's not everything.  It's important to have the capability but for the street...   I can get by with a little less than 200 mph capability if I don't have to give up.... attitude?   Feel?  I don't know... It't just that with the sport bikes... the only fun you can have on em is edge of death.    cruising on em is pointless and not very fun.   And... I am not very sensitive but...  people look like dorks on em.

Might buy a boss hog just for chuckles..  waiting for one with a clutch tho.
