An interesting dilema any potential Stormbird drivers will face. You see, my favorite thing in the MA is to run low-level in a P-51 or Typhoon to an enemy base that is the launch point for an attack on my base (I keep a sharp lookout for Goons on the way, of course). I'm talking right down in the weeds at less than 100 ft AGL. I make wide cirles around the field waiting to spot the dot of a enemy A/C lifting off, then kick it into WEP and come up to them from their low 6. Most of the time, they never now I'm there until I open fire. This is the absolute best way to kill buffs, by the way.
Now, the 262 accelerates slow, climbs slow, and turns like Aunt Bessy's prize hog. It also has the shortest legs in the arena. That means you'll either launch from a field close to the action (where I'll be waiting for you
), or from a field far enough away for you to climb to a decent alt. That means you'll have no time on-station. Bottom line, with the high cost in PP's, you'ld never want to risk taking one out it there is a red bar in your own grid, or in the eight surrounding grids for that matter.
I predict an abysmal K/D ratio for 262's. Having said all that, It's the only plane I'll probably use PP's for. What it lacks in tactical utility, it make up for in style
