Perhaps the time has come to recognize weekly winners, not unlike Rude's award (sorry to steal your idea). Lazs, Mathman, Creamo- all have gems this week.

Not a bad idea to have an award for something positive instead of for whining.  Most of the good quotes relate to the whines anyways.

"Most Notable Quotable"

"Distinguished Linguist"

etc.

I rather prefer a title more like "To The Point", as all the quotes have a way of succinctly cutting to the heart of the matter.

This has got to be the most "weekly award" crazed bunch I've ever seen. No doubt everyone will win an award of some kind or another here. Hell, add a "Weekly Award Idea of the Week Award".

So, you end up with five different boards when in reality everyone is talking about the same sh*t.

Well, let's see... we could talk about negative things like people who are new that come in here trolling just to get attention (which is a negative way of looking at things).

OR we could occupy our time with weekly awards that are given in jest.

Or we could start a weekly fart joke contest. That should go over well.

OR you might look at it as a fad that will pass in time. It would seem to contain at least the slightest possiblity of being civil and positive.


BTW Roto, no use going for the "Whine of the Week" award by hijacking this thread to the anti-UBB agenda. The thread hijack whine of the week award is already sewn up.

Dangit, have to add another gem to the pantheon of heroes this week. The following is the most successful anti-troll line I have ever seen...

 

HT the developer of this game is just a web page developer compared to the guy who programmed Warbirds. He knows it and we know it. He does the best he can walking in the footsteps of the genius who developed Warbirds.
The gameplay is very hard for some people to understand. But then so is chess. And snakes and ladders.
The game will only improve to a point where it is playable with the contribution of experts like yourself.
