That message is the DirectX sound not initializing in AH startup. Run DirectX diagnostics and see if the sound section checks out on test. (Use Run box in start menu and type "dxdiag")
If sound works in there on test reduce the sound acceleration one or two notches left in the sound tab on the diagnostics. If AH gives same message after doing this, check you have latest sound drivers and install them, or re-install sound drivers and then re-install DirectX - always reduce the sound acceleration at least one notch left in diagnostics after any re-install of DirectX, it does make sound much more stable and can limit random boots.
My system does this also if I leave sound acceleration at full, reducing it one notch works wonders -no problems after doing this and no random boots either.
