So, when will the raw arena data be ready
for us stat hounds to parse and display??

I remember mention that you might let
interested parties from the community do
some score work........

We have been scoring all the alpha testing we have been running. Some of the score pages are ready to rock and roll and the data base is all live.

Just want to remind you guys of some of the nice things in life.Such as scoretables with best P51, Spit, 109 pilots ect.
That way its possible to screw FMs up and still have happy faces all over.A gamedesigners dream if you are to judge by what is going on "over there"....

Danish the scorepage is looking pretty comprehensive even now and there's lots of cross-referencing that's it pretty hard to describe as there's many possible permutations.

You're able to lookup a pilot's basic stats and you can select which ToD you want to see.

You can lookup either a pilot, squad, country or plane versus a pilot, squad, country or plane and combinations thereof.

So to answer you Danish I can choose the p51 and compare it against another plane to see how many times it has killed and been killed by the other plane.

 Scores? Scores??????

Whats that? Or....will you fear me if I have
600,000 points or if you know I'll shoot you
down every time we meet but have none?

What about partial kills?
Will these be modeled?

what is that assist stuff good for in the first place ??? nice system to split up a kill on a number of x pilots but there is just one plane killed thats one kill and thats it.  i understand it is hard in an online sim to figure out who get's the kill and keep ppl happy. as for me i would like to see the Lw system. one downed plane one pilot earns the kill. no splitting up the kill for the whole squad. make it the way that the one who inflicted the most damage get's the kill and the kill stealers come out with zip. nothing anoyes me more than these guys that jump at an allready disabled ac to finish em off. looks like a flok of vulchures to me. as for the medal stuff (if there are any) you could also use the lw system. especialy for the buffkilling they had an system that would pilots give pints for e.g. shooting an bomber out of the formation (was ranked the same as killing em), killing an wounded bomber, and so on and so on. that would be a scoring system i would like.

Flat, simple answer? Yes. I fly to shoot down or be shot down.  I couldn't give a real boars a&& about points - of any kind.
They are inconsqeuential and serve only for
some to use as a "weenie" measure.
I have more points than you....blah blah blah.  Whoopity doo.

It is possible to use statistics to more than just collecting points. It can be a meseaurement (need spellchecker i know ;=) and a tool if you want to improve systematically.AH, WB ect can be a game, it can be a sim, a hobby - and it can be a sport.Take it as a sport and you will need parameters to relate to in order to improve, consentrating on training your weak areas, and killing with your strong points.

What ever rocks your boat  ;=)
