I knew going in my FPS was gonna choke and I'm getting a new vidcard and more RAM, so no complaints on FPS yet
. However...
Memory LeakAfter about 5 minutes in the game, regardless of whether I'm flying or on the ground, the game gives the symptoms of running me flat out of resources/memory/whatever. For example, the links on the clipboard that you click on instead of the old buttons start not showing up. Also, when things get this way, you can't set convergence. Either the view rotates to look out the back door of the plane selection hangar and then stops moving, or you get to the convergence hangar but it's empty, no plane and no gun lines. If I'm flying when this point is reached, FPS starts REALLY getting bad (down to about 6-8 from 20-30), with the whole game freezing momentarily every few seconds, etc.
1st time I had AH2 running, I ignored all this and kept flying. When I augered, I immediately got a BSOD. I hit the space bar and AH2 had crashed to desktop. My system was totally hosed at this point, unable to shut itself down. CTRL-ALT-DEL didn't even bring up its little window. Had to pull the plug. Since then, I exit the game when I start seeing these problems.
Tiger InteriorFrom the driver's seat and the hull gun position, the interiors of the hull walls and the driver's instrument panel are invisible. All you can see are the frame of the driver's window, the exterior of the hull gun mount, the bogey wheels, and the horizontal plate on the front hull in front of the driver (see edge-on). Also, the compass dial (not the instrument itself) is visible, hanging in space, but nothing else. The interior of the turret at the main gun position is OK, however.
Clipboard ObscuredIn flight, the canopy frames are drawn on top of the clipboard.
Flickering Icons
When icons get into the front panel of the windshield, they start flickering. They do not do this when observed from the tower or through other pieces of glass.
Flickering Bomb Craters
Bomb craters flicker constantly, regardless of how they are viewed.
ALT-TAB Problem
Doing ALT-TAB killed AH2. It minimized just fine and I did what I wanted to do outside it just fine. However, when I tried to restore AH2, all I got was the blank white screen with the windows border around it that you see before the splash screen appears. And that's how it stayed for 5 minutes. CTRL-ALT-DEL said AH2 was NOT locked up (as in NOT "not responding"), but after 5 minutes I lost patience and ended task on it. At the time I minimized AH2, I was in the hangar.
