1) Federal government's record deficit - reckless, harmful to our long term future.
2) Jobs/the economy/offshoring - I disagree that offshoring is good for our economy, that hamburger flipping can be considered 'manufacturing', and feel bad for all the hardworking Americans who recently lost the right to overtime pay (my wife included).
3) Iraq - what a friggin' mess
4) Healthcare/prescription drug price gouging - seems like a great percentage of the highest paid CEOs are always from healthcare-related companies - yet we lag behind all other industrialized countries in providing healthcare for our population, we gouge seniors on fixed income for drugs necessary to maintain their health, and I understand that healthcare benefit costs are one of the reasons job growth has been so sluggish. Lots of room for change/reform here.
5) Energy independence - tired of being held hostage to a region of the earth filled with such wackos.
6) Campaign/Election Reform - big money has too much influence in government. With that, and the last election fiasco I'm losing confidence in our democracy.
I'm not swayed a bit by President Bush's lip service to fuel cell cars or space exploration. I have more faith in what Honda, Toyota and Ford are accomplishing on their own, right now, with hybrid vehicles.
Issues absolutely off my radar: Gay marriage, gun control, abortion, and flag burning amendents.
