Why? It's only marginally faster than an LVT, and practically defenseless. Sure you could carry alot more troops, but I doubt HTC would allow you to load more than ten anyway. And what happens when you make landfall? Your dismounted troops would be slow and helpless. The LVT however can drive them to town in armored comfort. :salute

Well, you could use them to ferry light armor (Jeeps and possibly M-16's).  They could carry a 6000 lb vehicle.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

DING DING!  I like the option of being able to ferry a jeep and other smaller/lighter gv's (M3, M16, 251, M8?).  This would extend the capture range of a CV fleet.

I can only imagine the coding would be a nightmare and there are other priorities.

just add a LST to land light/medium tanks from fleet.

I like the idea of being able to transport other GV's to shore.  Sounds fun and would definitely add some variety to the game!

:huh Uh, guys. Except for the jeep, all those GV's weigh a Hell of a lot more than 3 tons. Jeeps might be fun though, if you can stay awake thru the 9 kt boat ride. And you're still pretty much defenseless while in the water.

whels has it right... if you really wanna drop some hurt on the beaches, use an LST.

+1

Make it a formation of Higgens boats ala buffs.

Three (or more) times of the troops necessary to take a town to account for the long, slow run to target and corresponding vulnerability.

I like it.  In fact, I like anything that adds immersion.

Dont call me on this, but I'm pretty sure, that if someone upped a typical N1k or a Spit 16, you'd probably lose your Higgens boat a lot quicker than your LVT...
