Never heard of the PSU brand.   The OCZ Vendetta 2 is favored by TilDeath and reading up on it, I can see why.   The NXZT Tempest case is a shade cheaper after Mail In Rebate.

The OCZ Gold is going to have a problem with that MB running at its rated speed (unless EVGA has fixed it in the BIOS)  As Mas said the Tempest case would have been a better option, I have a deal with NZXT for free shipping and the rebates (could have saved you about $30).  The processor is awesome with lots of overhead for OCing but again your paid to much.  You should be very happy with the system when completed, watch your temps on the processor, if you can intercept your order look at the Reaper or Blades from OCZ, not to much more then the Gold.

Yeah I wanted the OCZ psu but I did have a budget that I was trying to stick with and I wanted to drop this one in my sons system and see how it works. The reviews on the Seventeam psu's have been favorable but sometimes you just gotta see it for yourself and it was a nice combo deal with my favorite case brand. I just can't make myself like the NXZT Tempest case. Not sure why but it just doesn't make me want to buy it no matter what. Plus I just don't care for those windows into the cases either. I have had two systems in a row now with those windows but I don't like 'em and the only reason I had them is because I couldn't get the cases any other way.

Supposedly there is a new BIOS coming down the pipe very soon from EVGA on that board. At least that is the rumor on the boards that I was watching over there. The temps on the CPU was why I bought the COOLER MASTER V8 instead of the stock HSF.

TD do you have any suggestions for PSU's mounted in the bottom of the case? This will be the first one that I have done this way and I was wondering if there was anything you might suggest for it?

Me neither.

Look at the PC Power and Cooling PSU as well.

That was out of the budget zone as well Getback; as I mentioned this is going into an AMD system (not mine) that I paid $50 bucks when we closed the office down for that is only about 4 months old. I don't have the specs on it but if it gets toasted then it isn't a big deal since I can give him my current Core 2 Duo setup.

As long as the case has the PSU is raised off the bottom of the case, try to place the wiring on the MB side of the case.  I have in the past drilled holes thru the bottom of a case for airflow from a PSU.

Thanks TD. This case has a grille in the bottom for psu airflow already so it should not be an issue. I am hoping to make this one a super clean build on the inside so I don't see all these cables and stuff.

What did you order Zeta? Just curious to see how it will compare if it is different than what I am shooting for. My build schedule is now thrown off since I have to be in Racine, WI all of next week...the week I had penciled in to work on the new rig. Anyway I am going to work on it the following week since I am most likely changing out the case. I opened it up today and while it is a nice case it is a little bit out of character for Thermaltake stuff that I have bought in the last few years. I will probably be sending it back for a CoolerMaster Scout case which has excellent reviews plus it is black on the inside like the V9 that I have now.

I'm almost embarrassed to tell ya Reschke.......it's a Dell.  my firm has had an account with them for years..and although I dig NewEgg...and I spent some time there drooling over what could be.....time became the decisive factor.....so I took the cheap hack way out....and decided on Dell.

Hey just wipe it clean when you get it and install your own OS...That should eliminate a bunch of their failings.

If you can get a good deal and it works for what you want/need then there is no problem there.
