Possible Map Bug?
« on: December 16, 2009, 02:28:44 PM »
As you can see the Bishops have recaptured the forward fields and own everything in the zone 'grid' but the strats remain to the rear? Is this a bug?

They never have moved back on any map up yet.

Well it just kills the bomber raids to the strats when its at the rear like that and perhaps needs to move back to the front?

I was under the impression that the country had to lose ownership of ALL the bases linked by the white lines before the factories retreat to the rear.  But I have seen it happen when only one base is lost in the link.  So the Snail is probably right and the factories do not move forward after the country gets its base back.  Is it by design or a bug?  Not really sure how the new strat system is suppose to work.  Some clarification please.

Once any base linked to the strat is captured, the strat/city retreats.

Once all bases linked to the strat are re-captured the city/strat will return to its forward location.

Skuzzy it looks like all the links are bishop fields at that point unless there is not a white line (which is what I thought indicated the link) to one or two fields that are in fact linked?

Definitely does not happen at all. This is an example from Compello today:

Rooks have regained all the linked fields (and all other lost home bases), but the strats did not move back.

But the same thing goes for all large maps that have been up yet. On no map I saw the strat ever move back to their original location for any country. Once "retreated" they stay there.
With the usual flow of frontlines it means that after 1-3 days the strats of all countries will have become almost unreachable.

same on current map on titanic tuesday. Rook strat still retreated even after they've retaken A54 and other "zone" bases that should make the strat move forward.  Its that pacific based map, forgot its name.
