i think that it would be a good idea to add the higgins boats like the ones used in the normandy invasion.  i know that the first ting u all r gonna say is that we don't need it because we already have to lvts, but what i'm thinking is that we could make the higgins boats faster and less armement, and keep the lvts the same slow and heavily armored and armed tubs they've always been.  what i'm thinking for the higgins boats is, to make them about the same speed as a pt boat..    maybe a little slower and it would carry the same amount of troops as the lvts.. sound good

I think the biggest problem is that there are VERY little towns that are close enough to the shore for a Higgins boat to get the troops to the map room. The troops only run so far.

Higgins boats carried more than ten men. Perhaps, since a Higgins boat is unarmed, it could have a larger number of different troops, say 20 or so, that could run further, and maybe do a little more. Or the Higgins boat could carry a light vehicle and 5 troops, creating the need for at least two Higgins boats working together.

LVTs are not heavily armored. A few pings from a machine gun and POOF!

if you up the number of troops carried, HTC will up the number of troops req'd for base capture.

PT boat - speed 40 kts
