The 12 human bones were found on some rocks three miles from the wreckage.

For most people the sky is the limit.  For a pilot the sky is home.

The forum search is the real wayback machine as it only retrieves posts a decade old or older.

You can get modern posts, but you need to be a lot more specific and work at it.  If you just search for something common like"Spitfire" it will fill it up with 2000 and 2001 posts.

The search function on this site is the WORST that I have ever seen on any bbs, ever.

I've done very very specific searches, and specified for results to be returned in order of newest first, and had the first returned result 4 years older than the second...

I got so frustrated with it at one point I copied and pasted almost an entire sentence into the search, specified the specific forum on the bbs, every bit of info I could imagine that would guide the search function right to the thread in my little test......

NOPE. Not in the first 4 pages of results.

I gave up and have never used it again.

While my experience is limited, I agree that the search function here could be improved.

At least, to favor the ignorant!

The secret to using the search function is the days... limit the days searched to what you need or where you think i5 might be...

But yes... the search function is touchy.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

And an ongoing one.

I always use this:-

I just searched P-40 listing most recent first and it found four pages. Give it a try.

What Nefarious said.

The search function will time out if you search the entire history of the bulletin board.  Limit it to recent years and it will work fine.
