Track IR 5
« on: February 17, 2010, 05:59:13 PM »
I just got my Track IR 5 and i have a question.  It seems to work fine except for when i look up.  when i look up it freezes (not the game just the head motion) for maybe a second.

Sounds like you have to move your head a lot and the reflectors or emitters on your head aren't being picked up by the receiver.  You probably need to adjust your TIR profile a bit so you don't have to move your head so much to get the in-game head to move around.

When i use tir5 and i wan to to look back, then i press a joystick button to look back (and another one to look back up). To get good views i spent some time in drew tir5 curve. In this bbs there is a good link for that - but sorry don't remember its subject.

I still have my views set up on the hat switch.  I use a combination of both, but mostly to look behind while chasing somebody.  use the smooth profile, I have speed set up at 1 and smooth at 40.  the lower speed helps me not to get so dizzy, and improves my forward aim.  I also use a profile that was posted about 2 months ago in the hardware and software.  do a search and d/l.

This might help http://snomhf.exofire.net/trackIR.html. All credit to homeboy. This is IR 4 not 5. Some have had problems with the new 5. I'm still messing with it.

Got track IR5 two months ago, when I get in from work I will post my settings.
I look behind by just turning and leaning my head, as you know using little head movements.
It took me quite awhile to set it up :old:

Ive had it for a while (5) and have a pretty well set up profile,  PM me your e-mail and I will send it to you, it might not be perfect for you (everyone is different) but it will give you a good head start/base to build on and save you a bit of frustration.

NOTE: you should not have to use a button to look back.

i have it pretty well tuned to where i can look around fine the only problem is looking back.  i can see behind me decently by using that hat switch to look straight back and then lean to one side, but it takes a second and usually gets me killed.
