X52 Joystick finally died.,,, I think. recommendations
« on: June 08, 2010, 02:58:43 PM »
Hello,
Returning to AH after a 3 year break and I have a feeing my old X52 has official died. Ruder reaction is eratic and the system is screaming at me about moving to fast and I barely touch the stick.

So with that said, if it does turn out to be a bad stick (working with the tech forum currently), what is a recommended replacement. Cost is sort of an issue so X-52 replacement is most likely out of the picture.. don't have 100+ dollars to blow.

Thanks.

I'm having fun with this one.

http://reviews.cnet.com/game-accessories/thrustmaster-t-flight-hotas/4505-10110_7-33394435.html

The throttle can be separated from the stick. Lots of buttons.

I'm guessing GreenEagle didn't catch the "money is an issue, don't have $100 to spend" part.

G940 is far from ready for primetime IMO. I have one and wouldn't wish it on anyone....

If you're running the saitek SST program that came with your stick, try uninstalling it.  I had the same rudder spiking issue, uninstalled SST and it resolved the issue.  Good Luck.

Mine started to brake 4 days after I got it, buttons were falling off, then one and a half week the twisty went, even though I had the saitek peddels :rofl

picked up the CH fighter stick,  :x, worlds apart.

98$ for the CH Fighter stick.

Don't buy a g940, they are not that good, yet.
Why not just get a new x52 then avoid the learning curve of a new stick, i had a g940 for 2 days then put it away, went back to x52 for a few weeks, brought a new x52 Pro and its ok, its not much different from the standard x52, but both are cheap and no need for over prices rudder pedals.
My 1 cent.
