I wish Aces High had some simple but engaging offline features right out of the box, like (choke) Warbirds 2.77r3.

After you start Warbirds 2.77r3 you're literally two clicks away to an offline furball with decent pilot AI and enemy variety built right in. With just a few more clicks you can choose from four different mission types, set enemy AI levels, and choose how many wingmen you want.
The graphics might be a little dated today, but it runs smooth as chocolate milk even on my 2002 Dell Optiplex.
For all its advances, Aces High still can't compete with the initial offline mission experience of WB 2.77r3.
